Cedofer 200 MG Tablet Dt 10 is used for:

• Managing respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis, pneumonia, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, and sinusitis
• Handling urinary tract infections, including cystitis and pyelonephritis
• Controlling skin and soft tissue infections like cellulitis, wound infections, and abscesses
• Managing sexually transmitted diseases like gonorrhoea and cervicitis
• Dealing with acute otitis media or middle ear infection

• Swallow the whole tablet with a glass of water.
• Avoid crushing or chewing the tablet.
• Remember not to take more than the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.
• It's crucial to continue taking this medicine as advised by your doctor, even if you start feeling better.

Cedofer 200 MG Tablet Dt 10 contains cefpodoxime proxetil (200 mg), which works in the body as follows:

• Inhibits cell wall synthesis: Cefpodoxime disrupts the production of the peptidoglycan layer of bacterial cell walls, which provides strength and rigidity to the cells.
• Binds to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs): PBPs are enzymes involved in assembling the peptidoglycan layer. Cefpodoxime binds to these proteins, effectively inhibiting their function.
• Induces cell lysis: By weakening the peptidoglycan layer through PBP inhibition, cefpodoxime causes bacterial cells to rupture or lyse due to internal pressure.
• Broad spectrum action: Unlike earlier cephalosporins, cefpodoxime is effective against a wider range of gram-negative bacteria due to its stability in the presence of many beta-lactamases.
