Cefiyug 400 MG Tablet 10 is used for managing the following health conditions:

• Respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis, pneumonia, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and sinusitis

• Urinary tract infections

• Ear infections specifically otitis media

• Uncomplicated gonorrhoea in the cervix or urethra

• Typhoid fever

Cefiyug 400 MG Tablet 10 contains cefixime (400 mg). This active ingredient works on the body in the following ways:

• Inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis: Cefixime blocks the development of bacterial cell walls. It does this by attaching itself to proteins located within these walls and preventing them from functioning effectively.

• Causes bacteria to burst: After weakening the cell wall, cefixime causes bacteria to burst due to changes in pressure. This process helps eliminate the bacteria from your body.

• Demonstrates stability against beta-lactamases: Beta-lactamases are enzymes produced by certain bacteria which can make them resistant to antibiotics. However, cefixime remains stable and effective despite their presence.
