Cipladine 5% Ointment 10gm

Cipladine Ointment is used in the following conditions:

• Minor burns: This ointment can help prevent infection and promote healing in minor burn injuries.
• Lacerations and cuts: This ointment effectively prevents infection in deep cuts and promotes healing.
• Abrasions: This ointment is beneficial in treating bruises where the first layer of skin is scraped off.
• Infection control during medical procedures: It is also used to control and prevent infection during procedures such as urinary catheter insertion, circumcision, suture removal, and dressing changes.

• Clean and dry the affected area before applying the ointment.
• Apply a thin layer of the ointment uniformly on the skin.
• Cover the area with a dressing or bandage if necessary.
• Avoid direct contact with the eyes and nose. In case of accidental contact, rinse thoroughly with water.

Cipladine Ointment should be applied topically.

Cipladine Ointment contains the following component:

• Povidone-Iodine (5 % w/w): It is an antiseptic and disinfectant that acts by effectively killing a broad spectrum of bacteria, viruses, and fungi. This makes it valuable for wound care, preventing and treating infections in minor cuts, burns, and other skin injuries.

• Store the ointment at room temperature (15-25ºC).
• Protect it from light and moisture.
• Keep it out of reach of children.
• Do not use the ointment after the expiry date mentioned on the packaging.

• While taking baths, use mild soap and prefer warm water. This helps in maintaining proper hygiene and prevents skin infections.
• To prevent infections, refrain from walking barefoot in areas like gym showers or public pools where there may be a higher risk of exposure to harmful microorganisms.
• If you have skin irritation or infection, avoid scratching the affected area. Scratching can lead to the spread of infection to other parts of your body.
• Do not share personal items such as towels, combs, bedsheets, shoes, or socks with others. This reduces the risk of transmitting infections.
• Ensure that you regularly wash and change your bedsheets and towels to maintain cleanliness and prevent the buildup of harmful bacteria.
