Cipladine 5% Ointment 10gm

Cipladine Ointment is an antiseptic commonly used to treat and prevent skin infections in minor burns, lacerations, cuts, and abrasions. It works by preventing the growth of harmful microorganisms, including bacteria (both gram-positive and gram-negative), fungi, viruses, and protozoa. In addition, it is used to control infection during medical procedures such as urinary catheter insertion, circumcision, suture removal, and dressing changes.

• Clean and dry the affected area before applying the ointment.
• Apply a thin layer of the ointment uniformly on the skin.
• Cover the area with a dressing or bandage if necessary.
• Avoid direct contact with the eyes and nose. In case of accidental contact, rinse thoroughly with water.

Cipladine Ointment should be applied topically.

Cipladine Ointment contains the following component:

• Povidone-Iodine (5 % w/w): It is an antiseptic and disinfectant that acts by effectively killing a broad spectrum of bacteria, viruses, and fungi. This makes it valuable for wound care, preventing and treating infections in minor cuts, burns, and other skin injuries.

• Store the ointment at room temperature (15-25ºC).
• Protect it from light and moisture.
• Keep it out of reach of children.
• Do not use the ointment after the expiry date mentioned on the packaging.

• While taking baths, use mild soap and prefer warm water. This helps in maintaining proper hygiene and prevents skin infections.
• To prevent infections, refrain from walking barefoot in areas like gym showers or public pools where there may be a higher risk of exposure to harmful microorganisms.
• If you have skin irritation or infection, avoid scratching the affected area. Scratching can lead to the spread of infection to other parts of your body.
• Do not share personal items such as towels, combs, bedsheets, shoes, or socks with others. This reduces the risk of transmitting infections.
• Ensure that you regularly wash and change your bedsheets and towels to maintain cleanliness and prevent the buildup of harmful bacteria.
