Clavam Es Orange Flavour Dry Syrup 50ml

Clavam ES Dry Syrup is used in the management of the following conditions in children:

• Recurring or persistent acute otitis media, an infection of the middle ear.

• Bacterial infections caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae.

• Infections originating from Haemophilus influenzae, including those produced by β-lactamase strains.

• Moraxella catarrhalis infections, including those produced by β-lactamase strains.

• A wide array of bacterial infections affect the ears, sinuses, throat, lungs, and urinary tract.

• Skin and soft tissue bacterial infections.

Introduce Clavam ES Dry Syrup to your child as follows:

• Prepare the syrup by adding 37 ml of purified water to the dry powder and shaking vigorously.

• Shake well before each use to ensure proper mixing of the ingredients.

• Remember to consult your doctor for any specific advice regarding usage or dosage.

Clavam ES Dry Syrup is given orally.

Clavam ES Dry Syrup is composed of two active ingredients:

• Amoxicillin (600 mg): It's an antibiotic from the aminopenicillin group. Amoxicillin works by inhibiting the building of bacterial cell walls which causes the bacteria to break down and die. However, some bacteria produce enzymes called β-lactamases that can break down amoxicillin.

• Clavulanic Acid (42.9 mg): This ingredient doesn't kill bacteria itself but it blocks β-lactamase enzymes produced by certain bacteria. By doing so, clavulanic acid protects amoxicillin from being broken down by these enzymes, allowing amoxicillin to kill the bacteria effectively.

• Store Clavam ES Dry Syrup below 25°C.

• After preparation, store the syrup in a refrigerator between 2-8°C and use it within 7 days.

• Ensure the medicine stays away from direct sunlight and moisture.

• Always keep this medicine out of sight and reach of children.

• When your child is taking Clavam ES Dry Syrup, ensure they drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration caused by diarrhoea - a possible side effect.

• Since the medicine is used to manage bacterial infections, incorporate foods rich in vitamin C in your child's diet, such as oranges and strawberries, to boost their immune system.
