Clopitorva 40 Capsule is used for the following:

• Decreasing the risk of heart attacks and strokes in people with a history of heart disease or those at high risk.

• Management of acute coronary syndrome, a sudden reduction in blood flow to the heart.

• Preventing harmful blood clots from forming in people with peripheral arterial disease, a condition where blood vessels outside your heart narrow.

To use Clopitorva 40 Capsule, follow these steps:

• Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water. Do not chew or break it.

• You can take it before or after meals, as food does not affect how the medicine works.

• Try to take this medicine at roughly the same time each day to help you remember it.

Clopitorva 40 Capsule is taken orally.

Clopitorva 40 Capsule contains two active components:

• Atorvastatin (40 mg): This is a statin that works by inhibiting an enzyme in your body called HMG-CoA reductase. This particular enzyme is integral to the production of cholesterol within your body. By blocking this enzyme, atorvastatin effectively reduces the amount of 'bad' cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides in your blood. Simultaneously, it slightly increases the levels of 'good' cholesterol (HDL), reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke.

• Clopidogrel (75 mg): This is an antiplatelet agent that prevents the formation of blood clots.
