Co Art 150 MG Injection 1 is used for the following:

• Managing acute, uncomplicated Plasmodium falciparum malaria in adults and children

• Addressing severe malaria cases requiring parenteral therapy

• Effective in regions with chloroquine-resistant Plasmodium falciparum malaria

• This injection should be administered by a healthcare professional only.

• For optimal results, the injection should be used immediately after opening the ampoule.

• Dispose of any unused portion of the medicine properly after use.

Co Art 150 MG Injection 1 is administered via an intramuscular route.

Co Art 150 MG Injection 1 contains alpha-beta arteether (150mg) that works on your body as follows:

• Generates Cytotoxic Free Radicals: Alpha-beta arteether generates cytotoxic free radicals that cause damage within the malaria parasite. Cytotoxic simply means 'toxic to cells', so these free radicals are harmful to the cells of the malaria parasite.

• Damages Parasite's Food Vacuole: The cytotoxic free radicals target and damage the food vacuole within the malaria parasite, which is crucial for its survival. The destruction of this part leads to the death of the parasite.

• Active Against Erythrocytic Stages: Alpha-beta arteether is active against the erythrocytic stages of P. falciparum. Erythrocytic stages simply refer to when the parasite enters your red blood cells, including the ring, trophozoite and schizont forms.

• Unique Endoperoxide Bridge: The unique endoperoxide bridge in the chemical structure of alpha-beta arteether plays a key role in its antimalarial activity. Without this bridge, the medicine would not be effective against the malaria parasite.

• Keep Co Art 150 MG Injection 1 in a cool, dry area where the temperature stays below 30°C.

• Safeguard it from light exposure, and avoid freezing it.

• Always keep it out of reach of children.

• After opening the ampoule, use the injection immediately and discard any unused portion.

• To help manage malaria, ensure to maintain proper hygiene in your surroundings. This includes preventing stagnant water around your house, as mosquitoes breed in these areas.
