Cogmentin-5 Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing cognitive symptoms associated with moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease

• Improving memory and awareness in patients with Alzheimer's disease

• Enhancing the ability to perform daily functions in patients with Alzheimer's disease

• Slowing down the progression of Alzheimer's symptoms

Here are some general instructions to follow while taking Cogmentin-5 Tablet:

• Take this medicine orally, preferably just before bedtime.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water. Do not crush or chew it.

• Follow your doctor's instructions about how and when to take this medicine.

Cogmentin-5 Tablet is taken orally.

Cogmentin-5 Tablet contains two active ingredients:

• Memantine (5 mg): This ingredient is an NMDA (N-methyl-D-aspartate) receptor antagonist. It protects neurons from damage due to excessive glutamate-induced excitotoxicity, a condition thought to contribute to the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease. Memantine modulates the effects of elevated glutamate levels that may lead to neuronal dysfunction.

• Donepezil (5 mg): As a cholinesterase inhibitor, this component works by increasing the levels of acetylcholine. Acetylcholine is a neurotransmitter that plays a significant role in memory and learning. By inhibiting its breakdown, donepezil enhances cholinergic function, which is deficient in Alzheimer's disease.

• Keep Cogmentin-5 Tablet stored at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.
