CTD-T 6.25/80 Tablet is used for the following:

• Lowering high blood pressure or hypertension

• Reducing the risk of fatal and nonfatal cardiovascular events, primarily strokes and heart attacks

• Managing hypertension when other antihypertensive agents are also being used

• Decreasing the risk of heart attack, stroke, or death from cardiovascular causes in older patients at high risk of developing major cardiovascular events who cannot take ACE inhibitors

Here's how to take CTD-T 6.25/80 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a sufficient amount of water.

• It can be taken with or without food.

• Do not chew or crush the tablet.

CTD-T 6.25/80 Tablet is taken orally.

CTD-T 6.25/80 Tablet includes two active ingredients:

• Chlorthalidone (6.25 mg): This thiazide-like diuretic works on your kidneys to increase the excretion of salt and water from your body. This process reduces the volume of blood and decreases blood pressure. Additionally, Chlorthalidone relaxes blood vessels which further assists in lowering blood pressure.

• Telmisartan (80 mg): An angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), Telmisartan selectively blocks the binding of angiotensin II to AT1 receptors in tissues like vascular smooth muscle and the adrenal gland. This action inhibits the blood vessel narrowing (vasoconstrictor) effects and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II, leading to a decrease in blood pressure.

The combined effect of these two components contributes significantly to a reduction in blood pressure.

• Keep your CTD-T 6.25/80 Tablet in a dry place, safe from light and moisture.

• The ideal storage temperature is between 20°C to 25°C.

• Ensure the medicine is stored out of reach from children.

• To manage high blood pressure, reduce your intake of salt. Too much salt can cause your body to retain water, which can increase blood pressure.
