Decolic Tablet 10

Decolic Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Managing abdominal pain and cramps

• Controlling symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), a disorder with symptoms such as stomach pain, bloating, and changes in bowel movements

• Alleviating biliary colic, which is severe pain in your abdomen caused by a problem with your gallbladder

• Offering relief from renal colic, which is severe pain caused by kidney stones

• Easing menstrual pain and cramps, also known as dysmenorrhoea

• Swallow the tablet whole with a sufficient amount of water.

• Avoid crushing or chewing the tablet.

• The medicine can be taken with or without food according to your comfort.

Decolic Tablet 10 contains drotaverine (80 mg), which has a specific mechanism of action in your body:

• Phosphodiesterase inhibition: Drotaverine blocks the action of an enzyme called phosphodiesterase in your body. This enzyme usually breaks down a compound known as cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP).

• Increased cAMP levels: By blocking phosphodiesterase, drotaverine increases the levels of cAMP. Higher cAMP levels promote the relaxation of smooth muscles and widen blood vessels.

• Relief from spasms and pain: With smooth muscles relaxed and blood vessels widened due to increased cAMP levels, spasms and associated pain in the abdominal region are effectively managed.
