Decolic Paediatric Suspension 30ml

Decolic Paediatric Suspension is used for the following:

• Managing symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) including abdominal cramps, bloating, and flatulence

• Alleviating sudden abdominal pain caused by muscle contractions in the stomach and intestines

• Providing relief from colic in infants, characterised by excessive crying due to gas buildup in the digestive tract

To give Decolic Paediatric Suspension to your child, follow these steps:

• Shake the bottle well before every use.

• Measure the recommended amount using a spoon or cup, which ensures an accurate dosage.

• You can mix this medicine with equal parts of water to make it easier for your child to swallow.

• This medicine can be given with or without food, but remember not to give it at the same time as antacids.

• Always consult your child's doctor for specific advice.

• This medicine is sugar-based and needs caution for use in diabetic patients. If you have diabetes, consult your doctor before giving this medicine.

Decolic Paediatric Suspension is given orally.

Decolic Paediatric Suspension comprises two active ingredients:

• Dicyclomine (10 mg): This anticholinergic antispasmodic agent works by blocking certain chemicals in your child's body that lead to muscle contractions. This action helps relax the muscles in their gastrointestinal tract, effectively lowering instances of cramping and abdominal pain.

• Simethicone (40 mg): This anti-foaming agent breaks down gas bubbles in your child's stomach and intestines, allowing for easier passage of gas and reducing bloating and discomfort.

• Store Decolic Paediatric Suspension at room temperature, ideally between 15°C to 25°C.

• Keep it away from direct sunlight and avoid exposing it to moisture.

• Ensure the suspension is kept out of reach of children.

• To support your child's digestive health when managing conditions like Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) or colic, consider adding a probiotic-rich food like yoghurt to their diet. Probiotics can help maintain a healthy balance of bacteria in the gut.

• Encourage your child to participate in gentle physical activities such as walking or yoga. Regular movement can help reduce gas build-up in the stomach and intestines, which can alleviate symptoms of abdominal pain and bloating.
