Deplatt 150 Tablet is used for the following:

• Preventing blood clot formation in people with a history of heart attack, stroke or peripheral arterial disease

• Helping to avoid blood clots and thromboembolic events in patients with atrial fibrillation who can't take warfarin

• Reducing the risk of thrombotic events in conditions of acute coronary syndrome, such as unstable angina or non-Q-wave myocardial infarction, regardless of whether the patient's management includes percutaneous coronary intervention or coronary artery bypass grafting

Before you start taking Deplatt 150 Tablet, follow these steps:

• Always swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not chew or crush the tablet.

• Never exceed the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.

• Do not stop taking this medicine abruptly; always consult your doctor first.

Deplatt 150 Tablet contains Clopidogrel (150 mg), which works on the body in the following ways:

• Hepatic Biotransformation: Clopidogrel is a pro-medicine that requires transformation in the liver via specific enzymes, mainly CYP2C19, to become active.

• Inhibition of Platelet Aggregation: The active metabolite of clopidogrel inhibits the binding of adenosine diphosphate (ADP) to its platelet receptor. This action prevents the activation of a complex on the platelet surface, thereby reducing the clotting ability of the platelets.

• Prevention of Blood Clots: By inhibiting platelet aggregation, clopidogrel helps prevent the formation of harmful blood clots that could lead to heart attacks or strokes.
