Depo Pred 40mg Injection 1ml

Depopred 2ml Injection is used for managing the following conditions:

• Inflammatory disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and acute gouty arthritis.

• Allergic reactions including bronchial asthma and drug hypersensitivity reactions.

• Eye conditions like uveitis and ocular inflammation.

• Blood disorders like acquired hemolytic anaemia and idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura in adults.

• Nervous system disorders like acute exacerbations of multiple sclerosis.

Administer Depopred 2ml Injection as follows:

• The injection is administered by a healthcare professional into the muscle or directly into a joint, depending on the condition being managed.

• Ensure that the suspension is shaken well before use.

• Remember, this is a single-dose injection. Any unused portion should be discarded appropriately after use.

• For intramuscular, intra-articular and soft tissue injection. Not for intravenous injection.

Depopred 2ml Injection is administered intramuscularly.

Depopred 2ml Injection contains methylprednisolone (40 mg) and works in the body through the following mechanisms:

• Immune Response Modification: Methylprednisolone modifies the body's immune response by binding to a protein inside cells called the glucocorticoid receptor. This is essentially a switch that turns on or off different genes in your cells.

• Inflammatory Cytokine Suppression: Once activated, the glucocorticoid receptor can reduce inflammation by suppressing proteins called cytokines. These are the 'alarm signals' that your immune cells send out when they detect harm or danger.

• Leukocyte Function Interference: Methylprednisolone also acts by reducing the gathering of inflammatory cells at sites of inflammation and interfering with their function. This helps prevent these cells from causing further damage to tissues.

• Leukocyte Lysosomal Membrane Stabilisation: Lastly, methylprednisolone stabilises a part of these immune cells called lysosomes. By doing so, it prevents these cells from releasing destructive enzymes that can cause tissue damage.

• Store Depopred 2ml Injection at room temperature, ideally below 25°C.

• Do not freeze.

• Protect the injection from light.

• Keep it in a secure place, out of the reach of children.
