Doxolin M Tablet 10

Doxolin-M Tablet is used for managing the following conditions:

• Chronic asthma, a long-term inflammation of the airways causing wheezing and difficulty in breathing

• Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), a type of lung disease characterised by long-term breathing problems

• Bronchitis, an inflammation of the lining of the bronchial tubes which carry air to and from your lungs

• Bronchospasms, sudden constriction of the muscles in the walls of the bronchioles

• Allergic rhinitis, an allergic reaction causing sneezing, itching, and a runny or blocked nose.

Here's how you should take Doxolin-M Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet as it is designed to release medicine slowly in your body.

• Never exceed the recommended dose unless your doctor advises you to do so.

• Always consult your doctor before stopping this medicine.

Doxolin-M Tablet is taken orally.

Doxolin-M Tablet consists of two active ingredients that work together to manage respiratory conditions:

• Doxofylline (400 mg): As a bronchodilator, doxofylline works by inhibiting certain enzymes in your body known as phosphodiesterase enzymes. This leads to an increase in cyclic AMP levels, which relaxes the smooth muscles in your airways, reduces inflammation and decreases bronchial hyperresponsiveness.

• Montelukast (10 mg): Montelukast works differently than doxofylline; it's a leukotriene receptor antagonist. What this means is that montelukast blocks the action of a substance called leukotriene D4 on specific receptors (CysLT1) in your lungs and bronchial tubes. This action helps reduce swelling of the airway walls (edema), prevent contraction of smooth muscle, and lower inflammation levels, thereby preventing narrowing of the airways (bronchoconstriction) and relieving asthma symptoms.

• Store Doxolin-M Tablet at room temperature, ideally between 15-30°C.

• Keep it in a tightly closed container.

• Shield the medicine from light and moisture.

• Always place it beyond the reach of children.

• Use the tablet before the expiry date mentioned on the packaging.

• If you're managing chronic asthma or COPD with Doxolin-M Tablet, aim to avoid tobacco smoke and air pollution, both indoors and outdoors, as these can worsen your condition.
