Doxy is clinically effective in the treatment of a wide range of infections caused by susceptible strains of gram-positive, gram-negative and other microorganisms. It is primarily used to treat infections in the respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, eye, rickettsial (fever), and sexually transmitted infections.
The secondary uses of Doxy are the treatment of infections due to cholera, bubonic plague, psittacosis, brucellosis, tick-louse borne relapsing fever, tularaemia glanders, melioidosis and chloroquine-resistant falciparum malaria.
Doxy is a tetracycline antibiotic used for the off-label treatment of lichen planopilaris and folliculitis decalvans.
This medication contains the active substance Doxycycline hydrochloride, which is available in 100 mg. Doxycycline is only an antibacterial medicine. It will not cure or treat any viral infections.
