Dutas T+ Capsule is used to manage the symptoms of an enlarged prostate, a condition known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), in men. It helps improve urine flow and relieve symptoms such as difficulty passing urine, a weak stream, and frequent night-time urination.
It is a combination medicine belonging to the groups of medicines called alpha-blockers and 5-alpha reductase inhibitors. One ingredient relaxes the muscles of the prostate and bladder neck so urine can pass more easily, while the other helps shrink the prostate over time. Take it as directed by your doctor and continue for the duration prescribed, as the prostate-shrinking effect may take several months.
Some simple measures can help alongside this medicine. These include reducing fluids in the evening, limiting caffeine and alcohol, and not delaying urination when you feel the need.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any liver disease or other medicines you take. As it can lower blood pressure, you may feel dizzy on standing, so rise slowly. It is for men only, and women who are or may become pregnant should not handle the capsules.
