Composition

Duloxetine (20 Mg)

Serotonin and Norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor Duvanta 20 tablet is primarily prescribed to treat depression. Additionally, it is effective for nerve pain, including scorching and shooting pain. neuropathic pain, osteoarthritis, stress incontinence, fibromyalgia, and generalised anxiety disorder. Children above the age of seven are also advised to use it.

In addition to its ability to prevent serotonin absorption, Duvanta is also to blame for the rise in dopamine levels in the cortex, a region of the brain that helps fight depression. Dopamine is well known for its ability to combat depression.

This drug is only available with a prescription. It aids in controlling pain and mood. This is a medication that is well-tolerated and has few negative effects. A drug takes around two hours to take effect fully.

Major depressive disorder: Duvanta 20 increases the chemicals in the brain, enhancing mood and behaviour. It gives you good sleep and a stress-free active life.
General anxiety disorder: Anxiety is caused due to specific chemical imbalances in the brain. Duvanta 20 inhibits the chemical responsible for anxiety and worry. It reduces the other symptoms associated with anxiety, like tiredness, difficulty focusing, irritability feeling & sleep problems.
Neuropathic pain: High blood sugar levels can damage the nerve endings, leading to pain. Duvanta 20 tablet reduces the pain signal in the brain.
Fibromyalgia: The pain in fibromyalgia is chronic and leads to disturbed sleep & tiredness. Duvanta 20 tablet interferes with the pain messages in the brain. It reduces pain, mood changes, sleep problems and tiredness.
Stress incontinence: The involuntary passing of urine during stress characterises stress incontinence. Duvanta helps alter the nerve activity of the brain that controls the bladder muscles responsible for passing urine.

Directions for Use of Duvanta 20 MG Tablet 10

Swallow Duvanta 20 tablet with a whole glass of water
Do not crush or chew the tablet, as this may affect the way the medication is absorbed into the body
Take the tablet at a fixed time every day. This will maintain the levels of medication in the blood.

Duvanta 20 tablet has to be taken orally.

Drowsiness: It is a feeling of sleepiness. Do not do any activities which need focus & attention. It is a temporary feeling and goes away with time
Nausea: It is a feeling to vomit. Nausea may or may not lead to vomit. It is usually seen during the start of therapy and goes away after some time.
Constipation: Hard stools & difficulty in passing stools characterise constipation. One may also experience stomach cramps & bloated feelings during constipation.
Dry mouth: When enough saliva is not produced, it leads to dryness in the mouth. It is a common symptom of SSRI therapy. It usually goes away on its own & may not need medical intervention.

Managing the Side Effects:

Drowsiness: The tired feeling can be managed by resting for a while, having a short nap and sitting until the drowsy feeling reduces. If the effect continues, visit the doctor.
Nausea: If you feel nauseated, smell a slice of lemon, have a glass of lemon juice, and get some fresh air.
Constipation: Drink plenty of fluids; often, include fibre-rich foods to reduce or overcome constipation.
Dry mouth: Drink water regularly, and chew gum to keep your mouth wet.

Duloxetine works by increasing the amount of specific chemical messengers in the nervous system and also reduces the pain message signals received in the brain.

Pregnancy

There are no adequate studies on the use of Duvanta 20 in pregnant women. Therefore, if the potential risk in pregnant women justifies the potential risk to the foetus, it is indicated in pregnancy. Consult your doctor before use.

Breastfeeding

There are Inadequate studies about the use of Duvanta 20 tablet in breastfeeding women. Hence, doctors can only decide the use of Duvanta 20 tablet in nursing mothers. Consult your doctor before use.

Alcohol

Alcohol increases the unconscious or drowsy feeling of Duvanta 20 tablet mg. Hence it is best not to take alcohol while taking a Duvanta 20 tablet.

Liver

Be cautious using Duvanta 20 tablet in case of jaundice, liver dysfunction and chronic liver disease. Consult your doctor before use.

Kidney

Duvanta 20 tablet is usually not indicated in patients with severe renal impairment. Consult your doctor before use.

Allergy

Children
