Ecosprin AV 150/20 Capsule is used for the following:

• Lowering the risk of heart attack and stroke in people with heart disease or those at high risk.

• Reducing the combined risk of death and nonfatal stroke in patients who have had an ischemic stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA).

• Decreasing the combined risk of death and nonfatal heart attack in patients with a previous heart attack or unstable angina.

• Lowering the risk of heart attack and sudden death in patients with chronic stable angina.

• Use among patients who have undergone coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) or angioplasty (PTCA), when aspirin is already indicated.

Use Ecosprin AV 150/20 Capsule as follows:

• It's advised to take this medicine with food to minimise stomach upset.

• Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or open the capsule.

• Follow your doctor's instructions for dosage and duration.

• Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor, even if you feel well.

Ecosprin AV 150/20 Capsule combines two active ingredients:

• Aspirin (150 mg): This component works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes in your body, which leads to blocking thromboxane A2 synthesis. As a result, it prevents platelets, tiny blood cells that help in clotting, from sticking together and forming harmful clots that can trigger serious cardiovascular events like heart attacks or strokes.

• Atorvastatin (20 mg): This ingredient belongs to the statin group of medicines. It competes with HMG-CoA reductase—an enzyme playing a key role in cholesterol production—thus reducing its activity. By lowering LDL production and increasing LDL receptor activity, atorvastatin effectively brings down total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides while making a modest increase in HDL cholesterol levels.

• Keep the Ecosprin AV 150/20 Capsule in a tightly closed container.
