Engel 250 Tablet 10

Engel-250 Tablet is used for the following:

• Management of acute bacterial sinusitis in the respiratory tract

• Dealing with acute bacterial otitis media

• Control of acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis

• Handling community-acquired pneumonia

• Managing uncomplicated urinary tract infections

• Controlling pyelonephritis in the urinary tract

• Addressing uncomplicated skin and skin-structure infections like furunculosis, cellulitis, and erysipelas

• Early Lyme disease management

• Dealing with early disseminated Lyme disease

• Control of uncomplicated gonorrhoea (cervical/urethral and rectal) caused by non-penicillinase-producing strains of Neisseria gonorrhoeae.

Here is how you should take Engel-250 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• Ensure you don't take more than your doctor's recommended dose.

• Don't stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Engel-250 Tablet is taken orally.

Engel-250 Tablet contains cefuroxime (250 mg), which works in your body through the following mechanisms:

• Bacterial Cell Wall Inhibition: Cefuroxime halts the synthesis of bacterial cell walls. It does so by binding to and disabling penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) present on the inner membrane of the bacterial cell wall.

• Promotion of Bacterial Cell Death: By disrupting the cross-linkage of peptidoglycan, a critical component of bacterial cell walls, cefuroxime causes the bacterial cell to break apart or lyse, leading to cell death.

• Store Engel-250 Tablet at a room temperature of 15-30°C.

• Keep the medicine in a dry place, away from direct light and moisture.

• Ensure that the storage area is out of reach for children and pets.

• Always check the expiry date before taking the medicine.

• If you're fighting respiratory tract infections with this medicine, try to avoid smoking and inhaling second-hand smoke, as these can worsen your condition.

• For urinary tract infections, increase your water intake. This helps flush out bacteria from your system. Remember, however, to discuss any drastic changes in diet or lifestyle with your doctor first.
