Epitra 500 Tablet 10

Epitra-500 Tablet is used to manage various types of seizures associated with epilepsy, including:

• Partial-onset seizures that may or may not spread to other parts of the brain

• Myoclonic seizures, which are rapid, jerky movements affecting the whole body

• Primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures, previously known as grand mal seizures, involving convulsions and loss of consciousness

• Juvenile myoclonic epilepsy, a common type of epilepsy that begins in adolescence

To correctly use Epitra-500 Tablet, follow these instructions:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not chew, crush, or break the tablet.

• You can take this tablet with or without food.

• It's important not to stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor first.

Epitra-500 Tablet is taken orally.

Epitra-500 Tablet contains Levetiracetam (500 mg), which works on your body in the following ways:

• Nerve Cell Binding: Levetiracetam binds to a specific site on nerve cells in your brain known as synaptic vesicle protein 2A or SV2A.

• Suppresses Abnormal Activity: By binding to SV2A, Levetiracetam suppresses the abnormal activity of nerve cells which can cause seizures.

• Prevents Spread of Electrical Signals: This medicine prevents the spread of erratic electrical signals that trigger epileptic seizures.

• Seizure Control: By slowing down these irregular signals, Levetiracetam effectively aids in preventing and managing epileptic seizures.

• Store Epitra-500 Tablet in a cool and dry place, ideally at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.

• Keep the medicine away from direct sunlight and moisture to prevent any degradation.

• Always keep it out of the reach of children for their safety.

• Ensure you use this medicine before its expiry date for maximum effectiveness.

• Since Epitra-500 Tablet is used to manage epilepsy, try to maintain a regular sleeping schedule. A lack of sleep can trigger seizures in some individuals.

• Incorporate stress management techniques such as yoga or meditation into your daily routine. High levels of stress or anxiety can sometimes lead to seizures.
