Esam-2.5 Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing essential hypertension in adults: Essential hypertension is a condition where the blood pressure is persistently high without any identifiable cause.

• Prevention of chronic stable angina: Angina is a type of chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart.

• Prevention of vasospastic angina (Prinzmetal's or variant angina): This is a rare form of angina where chest pain occurs at rest, especially during sleep.

Esam-2.5 Tablet aids in reducing the risk of serious cardiovascular complications associated with hypertension, such as heart attack, stroke, and kidney damage.

Follow these instructions while taking Esam-2.5 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Try to take this medicine at the same time each day to maintain a consistent level of medication in your blood.

• If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. Do not double the dose to catch up.

• It's important not to stop taking this medicine without speaking to your doctor first.

Esam-2.5 Tablet is taken orally.

Esam-2.5 Tablet contains S-Amlodipine (2.5 mg), which acts on your body in the following ways:

• Muscle Relaxation: S-Amlodipine relaxes the smooth muscles in your arterial walls. This relaxation of muscles results in the dilation of your arteries.

• Calcium Ion Inhibition: Being a calcium channel blocker, it stops the influx of calcium ions into your vascular smooth muscle cells and heart muscle cells during depolarisation. This action further reduces the contraction of your arteries and lowers your blood pressure.
