Esiloc-40 Tablet is used for managing the following health conditions:

• Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD): It helps manage heartburn and other symptoms and aids in the healing of erosive esophagitis.

• Gastric and Duodenal Ulcers: It promotes the healing of these ulcers and provides relief from ulcer pain.

• Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome: It helps to control excessive stomach acid production caused by this condition.

• Prevention of Gastric Ulcers Associated with NSAIDs: It reduces the risk of developing stomach ulcers in patients taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines.

• Helicobacter Pylori Eradication: When used with antibiotics, it assists in eliminating H. pylori bacteria from the gut and prevents ulcer recurrence.

Here is how you should take Esiloc-40 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• Always take this medicine at least one hour before a meal.

• If you have trouble swallowing, you can disperse the tablet in half a glass of non-carbonated water, mix it and swallow immediately.

• Do not take more than what your doctor has recommended.

Esiloc-40 Tablet is taken orally.

Esiloc-40 Tablet contains esomeprazole (40 mg), which acts on your body through the following mechanisms:

• Blocks H+/K+ ATPase enzyme: Esomeprazole works by irreversibly blocking an enzyme known as the hydrogen/potassium adenosine triphosphatase enzyme system (H+/K+ ATPase, or proton pump), found in your stomach's parietal cells. This enzyme is responsible for producing acid in your body.

• Reduces stomach acid: By blocking the activity of H+/K+ ATPase, esomeprazole effectively reduces the amount of acid produced by your stomach. This action alleviates symptoms related to acid-related disorders, promotes healing of gastric and esophageal mucosa, and minimises the risk of complications associated with excessive stomach acid.

• Keep your Esiloc-40 Tablet in a cool, dry place at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.

• Shield it from light and moisture to maintain its efficacy.

• Always keep this medicine out of the reach and sight of children.

• Check the expiry date on the pack, never use it past that date.

• If you're managing Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) with Esiloc-40 Tablet, consider reducing your intake of spicy foods, as these can exacerbate heartburn symptoms.

• For those taking Esiloc-40 Tablet to manage gastric or duodenal ulcers, it may be beneficial to reduce the consumption of alcohol and caffeine, which can irritate the stomach lining.
