Esys Tablet 10 is used for managing the following conditions:

• Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), a condition where the stomach acid frequently flows back into the tube connecting your mouth and stomach.

• Peptic ulcer disease, which refers to painful sores or ulcers in the lining of your stomach or the first part of your small intestine.

• Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, a rare disorder that leads to tumours forming in your pancreas or the upper part of your small intestine.

Here's how to take Esys Tablet 10:

• Swallow it with a glass of water. Crushing, breaking, or chewing it is not recommended.

• Remember to take the tablet at least an hour before you eat, ideally in the morning.

• Always follow your doctor's advice on how to take this medicine.

Esys Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Esys Tablet 10 contains esomeprazole (40 mg), which influences your body in the following ways:

• Proton pump blocker: Esomeprazole acts by permanently blocking an enzyme system in your stomach cells called the hydrogen/potassium adenosine triphosphatase (H+/K+ ATPase) or proton pump. This enzyme system is responsible for the acid production in your stomach.

• Acid production reducer: By inhibiting this proton pump, esomeprazole effectively controls the amount of acid produced in your stomach. This results in relief from symptoms associated with excessive stomach acid.

• Keep Esys Tablet 10 at room temperature in a cool, dry place.

• Store the medicine away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture.

• Ensure the medicine is kept out of the reach of children to avoid accidental ingestion.

• Always check the expiration date on the packet before using the tablet.

• If you're dealing with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), try to eat smaller meals more frequently throughout the day. This can help reduce the production of stomach acid.

• For peptic ulcer disease, avoid foods and drinks that can increase stomach acid, such as spicy foods and caffeinated beverages. Instead, opt for a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables and lean proteins.
