Exena-25 Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing symptoms of overactive bladder in adults, which includes sudden urges to urinate that are difficult to control

• Reducing frequent urination, where the need to urinate is more often than usual

• Controlling urge incontinence, which involves involuntary leakage of urine alongside a sudden urge to urinate

• Helping to manage neurogenic detrusor overactivity, a condition where the muscle of the bladder becomes overly active and reduces its capacity

Here are some simple instructions on how to take Exena-25 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Make sure you don't chew, divide or crush the tablet.

• Avoid exceeding the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.

• It's crucial not to stop taking this medicine without discussing it with your doctor first.

Exena-25 Tablet is taken orally.

Exena-25 Tablet contains Mirabegron (25 mg). This ingredient works on your body in the following ways:

• Activates Beta-3 Receptors: Mirabegron activates the beta-3 receptors present on the detrusor muscle of your bladder. The detrusor muscle is what helps your bladder contract and release, allowing urine to pass out of your body.

• Relaxes the Bladder: By activating the beta-3 receptors, Mirabegron relaxes the bladder. This action increases the bladder's capacity to hold urine, which helps in managing overactive bladder symptoms.

• Reduces Involuntary Contractions: Additionally, Mirabegron reduces the frequency of involuntary contractions in your bladder. This helps delay the initial urge to urinate, thereby providing relief from the symptoms of overactive bladder.

• Store Exena-25 Tablet at room temperature, below 30°C.

• Avoid exposure to excess heat and moisture.

• Be mindful of your fluid intake. Drinking too much can exacerbate symptoms of overactive bladder (OAB). However, do not severely restrict liquids, as this can lead to dehydration. Balance is key.

• Limit your intake of caffeinated and alcoholic beverages, as these can irritate your bladder and worsen OAB symptoms. Opt instead for water or herbal teas, which are gentler on your bladder.
