Ferium 500 Injection 10ml

Ferium-500 Injection is used for the following:

• Addressing iron deficiency anemia when oral iron supplements are ineffective or unsuitable

• Assisting patients with non-dialysis-dependent chronic kidney disease suffering from iron deficiency anemia

• Enhancing exercise capacity in patients with symptomatic chronic heart failure combined with iron deficiency.

Here is how you should administer Ferium-500 Injection:

• This medicine is administered intravenously (into a vein) by a doctor.

• Ensure to stay relaxed during the administration process to ease the injection experience.

• After the injection, keep the area clean and avoid any harsh physical contact.

Ferium-500 Injection is administered intravenously.

Ferium-500 Injection contains Ferric Carboxymaltose (50 mg) which acts on the body as follows:

• Gradual Release of Iron: Ferric Carboxymaltose is a stable complex that gradually releases iron into your system after being administered.

• Iron Uptake by Reticuloendothelial System: The reticuloendothelial system, mainly found in your liver and spleen, absorbs the Ferric Carboxymaltose from the injection.

• Iron Storage and Transportation: Once absorbed, the iron released from Ferric Carboxymaltose enters the intracellular storage iron pool as ferritin or gets transferred to plasma transferrin for transport to erythroid precursor cells.

• Stimulation of Red Blood Cell Production: This transported iron is incorporated into haemoglobin in erythroid precursor cells which helps stimulate the production of red blood cells, thereby managing anaemia effectively.

• Store Ferium-500 Injection at room temperature, ideally between 8°C to 25°C.

• Protect the medicine from exposure to light.

• Keep Ferium-500 Injection in a safe place, out of sight and reach of children.

• To manage iron deficiency anemia effectively, add more iron-rich foods like spinach, lentils, and red meat to your diet.

• Engage in regular light physical activity such as walking or yoga to help boost your energy levels and combat fatigue associated with anemia.
