Uses of Flodart Tablet 10
Flodart Tablet is used in the following condition:
- Treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia: Flodart Tablet is used in the treatment of enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH), which is characterised by difficulty in urinating, hesitation in urination, dribbling, weak stream of urine, and incomplete bladder emptying.
Directions for Use of Flodart Tablet 10
- Take the tablet with one whole glass of water.
- Swallow the tablet as a whole; do not crush or chew it.
- Take the tablet at fixed times each day to maintain a consistent level of medication.
Route of Administration
Flodart Tablet is taken orally.
Side Effects of Flodart Tablet 10
The common side effects of Flodart Tablet include:

How Flodart Tablet 10 Works?
Flodart Tablet contains the following components:
- Tamsulosin: It is a alpha blockers. It blocks the alpha 1a receptor. About 70% of receptors on the prostate gland are alpha 1a receptors. As tamsulosin blocks the alpha 1a receptor, it helps smooth muscle relaxation of the prostate gland and improves urinary flow. It is specific in action, i.e., it focuses on the effect of the detrusor muscle of the prostate and reduces undesirable effects like orthostatic hypotension.

Patients with severe liver problems should cautiously take this tablet. If you have a severe liver problem, consult your doctor before taking this tablet.
Kidney
When taking Flodart Tablet, patients with kidney disease should exercise caution. If you have kidney dysfunction, it is better to consult your doctor before taking this tablet.
Using Machines & Driving
Flodart Tablet may affect your mental or physical abilities to operate machinery or drive. After taking the tablet, you may experience dizziness. Therefore, avoiding any attentive task is recommended after taking this medicine.
Allergy
