Flucus 400 MG Tablet 1

Flucus 400 MG Tablet 1 is used for managing the following conditions:

• Vaginal yeast infections, also known as vaginal candidiasis.

• Oral thrush, medically termed as oropharyngeal candidiasis.

• Esophageal candidiasis is a yeast infection in the oesophagus.

• Other types of candida infections include urinary tract infections and peritonitis.

• Cryptococcal meningitis is a serious fungal infection in the brain.

• Prevention of candidiasis and coccidioidomycosis in patients with cancer or those who have undergone bone marrow transplants.

Here's how you should take Flucus 400 MG Tablet 1:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• You can take this medicine with or without food.

• Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor, even if symptoms improve.

• Avoid taking antacids within 2 hours before or after this medication.

Flucus 400 MG Tablet 1 is taken orally.

Flucus 400 MG Tablet 1 contains fluconazole (400 mg). This active ingredient works in the body as follows:

• Inhibits Cytochrome P450 enzyme: Fluconazole works by blocking a specific enzyme called cytochrome P450 14α-demethylase in the fungi. This enzyme plays a crucial role in converting lanosterol to ergosterol, which is an important part of the fungal cell membrane.

• Disrupts cell membrane synthesis: By hindering the activity of cytochrome P450 14α-demethylase, fluconazole effectively disrupts the synthesis of ergosterol. This disruption leads to increased fungal membrane permeability, causing leakage of cellular contents and eventually leading to the death of the fungal cell. This action helps to manage the fungal infection by preventing further growth of the fungi.

• Always store your Flucus 400 MG Tablet 1 in a cool, dry place, ideally below 30°C.
