Frenin Injection is used for:

• Managing clinically significant low blood pressure occurring primarily from blood vessel dilation during anaesthesia.

• Maintaining normal blood pressure levels during surgical procedures.

• Ensuring sufficient blood flow to vital organs when a drop in blood pressure could threaten their function.

Administer Frenin Injection as follows:

• This injection is administered intravenously or intramuscularly by a doctor.

• For continuous infusion, the medication is diluted before administration with normal saline or 5% dextrose in water.

• After dilution, the solution should not be held for more than 4 hours at room temperature and no more than 24 hours under refrigerated conditions.

Frenin Injection contains Phenylephrine (10 mg). Here's how it works:

• α1-Adrenergic Receptor Agonist: Phenylephrine stimulates α1-adrenergic receptors, leading to the constriction of peripheral blood vessels. This action increases arterial blood pressure, which is a critical aspect when dealing with hypotension.

• Activation of Phospholipase C: Phenylephrine triggers the activation of phospholipase C, resulting in increased calcium ion concentrations in vascular smooth muscle cells. This activity contributes to the vasoconstriction effect, further helping to elevate blood pressure.

• Weak β-Adrenergic Receptor Activity: Phenylephrine also exhibits weak β-adrenergic receptor activity. This can cause a slight increase in heart rate and cardiac output, contributing to the maintenance of blood pressure during anaesthesia.

• Store Frenin Injection at a consistent temperature of below 25°C.

• Keep it away from direct sunlight and moisture.

• Always keep the medicine out of reach of children.

• Ensure to use Frenin Injection before its expiry date.

• If you suffer from hypotension, increase your intake of fluids and salt, but always consult your doctor before making significant dietary changes.

• Engage in regular, gentle exercise to promote healthy blood circulation, but avoid strenuous activities that may cause a drop in blood pressure.
