Glycinorm-M 40 Tablet is used for:

• Management of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults

• Control of blood glucose levels when diet and exercise alone do not provide adequate control

• Use in overweight and obese patients who have inadequate blood sugar control

• Reducing the risk of diabetes-related complications such as cardiovascular disease, neuropathy, nephropathy, and retinopathy

Here are some instructions while taking Glycinorm-M 40 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not split, crush or chew the tablet.

• Always take this medication with meals to avoid upset stomach.

• Do not exceed the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.

• Regularly monitor your blood glucose levels while on this medication.

Glycinorm-M 40 Tablet is taken orally.

Glycinorm-M 40 Tablet comprises two active ingredients:

• Gliclazide (40 mg): This component belongs to a group of medicines known as sulfonylureas. It encourages the beta cells in your pancreas to produce more insulin. Insulin is a hormone that helps control blood sugar levels. Gliclazide also aids in reducing liver-produced glucose and increasing the body's sensitivity to insulin.

• Metformin (500 mg): Metformin is part of the biguanide class of antidiabetic medicines. Its primary function is to decrease liver-produced glucose by inhibiting two processes: gluconeogenesis and glycogenolysis. It also assists in increasing the uptake and use of glucose by enhancing insulin sensitivity in muscles and fat tissues.

The combined action of gliclazide and metformin provides improved control over blood glucose levels when compared to either medicine taken alone.
