Intagenta 80mg Injection 20ml contains Gentamicin (80 mg) and functions in the body as follows:

• Inhibits Bacterial Protein Synthesis: Gentamicin acts by blocking protein creation in bacteria. It attaches itself firmly to bacterial ribosomes, interrupting the translation process, which builds proteins.

• Causes Bacterial Cell Death: The incorrect proteins resulting from this disrupted process impair the function of bacterial cells, leading to their death. This makes Gentamicin bactericidal. It actively kills bacteria rather than just stopping their growth.
