Itrostred OC Cream is applied topically.
Itrostred OC Cream may have the following common side effects:
Burning sensation
Skin irritation, redness or rash
Itching
Dryness or flaking of treated skin
Allergic contact dermatitis: This allergic reaction causes skin inflammation. It might cause redness, itching, and sometimes blisters on your skin.
Hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis suppression: This condition can cause fatigue, nausea, and loss of appetite.
Cushing's syndrome: This hormonal disorder can lead to rapid weight gain in the face and upper body.
Hyperglycaemia: This means high blood sugar levels.
Opportunistic skin infections: These are infections that occur more frequently or are more severe in individuals with weakened immune systems.
Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless, and they resolve when you discontinue using Itrostred OC Cream. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening symptoms, please consult your doctor.
Here are some general guidelines for managing common side effects:
Burning sensation: Applying the cream at bed time may help manage this side effect.
Skin irritation or redness: Consider applying this cream in the morning to monitor your skin's reaction during the day.
Itrostred OC Cream contains four active ingredients that work together to manage skin infections:
Clobetasol propionate (0.05%): This super-high potency corticosteroid reduces inflammation in the body. It does this by suppressing the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation.
Itraconazole (1%): This broad-spectrum triazole antifungal inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, a key component of the fungal cell membrane. The inhibition disrupts fungal growth, leading to elimination.
Ofloxacin (0.75%): As a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, it works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV enzymes. These enzymes are needed for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair and recombination. The resultant effect is the inhibition of bacterial cell growth.
Ornidazole (2%): This nitroimidazole antibacterial and antiprotozoal agent works by damaging the DNA and other critical cell components in susceptible organisms, resulting in their death.
If you are pregnant, caution is needed when using Itrostred OC Cream. It is best to consult your doctor before applying this cream.
While breastfeeding, Itrostred OC Cream should be used with caution. Avoid applying this cream to breast areas before nursing, and always consult your doctor before using it.
Interactions between alcohol and Itrostred OC Cream through topical usage are rare. However, it is always a good idea to discuss with your doctor.
If you have liver health issues, proceed with caution when using Itrostred OC Cream. Your doctor will assess whether this cream is suitable for you.
If you have a history of kidney problems, it's a good idea to consult your doctor before using Itrostred OC Cream.
As a topical cream, Itrostred OC Cream has no known impact on your ability to drive or operate machinery.
If you've had local hypersensitivity reactions to topical products in the past, use Itrostred OC Cream with caution. If irritation or hypersensitivity occurs, discontinue treatment.
Caution is advised while giving Itrostred OC Cream to children under 18 years of age. Always consult your doctor before giving any medicine to a child.
Older patients should use Itrostred OC Cream under medical supervision as they may be more susceptible to its side effects. Your doctor will guide you based on your health status.
Itrostred OC Cream interacts with the following medicines:
Oral Anticoagulants: The clobetasol in Itrostred OC Cream may enhance the effects of oral anticoagulants like warfarin and heparin.
Non-depolarizing Muscle Relaxants: Clobetasol may increase the effect of these relaxants, such as atracurium and rocuronium.
Drugs Metabolized by CYP3A4: Itraconazole in this cream is a potent CYP3A4 inhibitor so it may increase levels of drugs metabolized by this enzyme, including statins like simvastatin and antiarrhythmics like amiodarone.
Drugs Prolonging QT Interval: The ofloxacin component of the cream might interact with these drugs, which include certain antibiotics like erythromycin and antifungals like ketoconazole.
There are no known food interactions with Itrostred OC Cream. As it's a topical medicine, what you eat or drink won't affect how it works.
Itrostred OC Cream interacts with the following diseases:
Hypersensitivity: People with a history of allergic reactions to clobetasol, itraconazole, ofloxacin, ornidazole or any other ingredients in Itrostred OC Cream should avoid using this medicine.
Viral Infections: Due to its steroid component, diseases like herpes simplex, vaccinia and varicella can worsen if treated with Itrostred OC Cream.
Stick to the daily dose of Itrostred OC Cream as your doctor prescribes. This dosage can vary depending on factors like the severity of your condition and how you respond to the medication. Always follow your doctor's instructions and don't exceed the prescribed dosage without consulting them.
If you accidentally apply too much of this cream, you might experience minor skin irritation or redness. In such cases, rinse the area thoroughly with cool water. If the irritation persists, contact your doctor.
