In addition to managing bleeding caused by vitamin K deficiency, this medicine is also used to prevent hemorrhagic disease of the newborn and reverse anticoagulant-induced hypoprothrombinemia, such as from warfarin overdose. Furthermore, it aids in preventing bleeding in patients with conditions like biliary obstruction or malabsorption states that can lead to vitamin K deficiency and serves as a prophylaxis against haemorrhage in surgical patients.
