About Lasix 40mg Tablet 15

Lasix Tablet is classified as a diuretic medication that increases urine production which is used to treat hypertension, heart failure, and oedema. High blood pressure can cause heart diseases and irregular heartbeats, whereas oedema results in fluid accumulation in the tissues, causing swelling. This medication works by reducing the excess fluid levels in the body, which eases the workload on the heart and lowers high blood pressure, thus minimising the risk of stroke or heart attack.

Your doctor will determine the appropriate dosage and frequency of Lasix tablets based on your medical condition. While taking this medication, some common side effects may occur, such as dehydration, headache, nausea, or dizziness. However, you should inform your doctor if any of these side effects persist.

It is essential not to discontinue taking Lasix Tablet by yourself, as it may increase the risk of heart disease and stroke due to high blood pressure. Inform your doctor if you have kidney, liver, or heart diseases and are pregnant or breastfeeding. To avoid frequent urination at night, refrain from taking this medication within four hours of bedtime.

Lasix composition

  • Furosemide: It is a potent loop diuretic that is used to treat various conditions such as oedema, hypertension, and congestive heart failure. It works by blocking the reabsorption of sodium and chloride ions in the kidneys, leading to increased urine output and reduced fluid retention in the body.
