Levepxy XR 500 Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing partial-onset seizures

• Control of myoclonic seizures

• Reducing the frequency of primary generalised tonic-clonic (grand mal) seizures

Follow these instructions while taking Levepxy XR 500 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid crushing, chewing, or breaking the tablet.

• Try to take the medicine at the same time each day for optimal effectiveness.

• Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Levepxy XR 500 Tablet is taken orally.

Levepxy XR 500 Tablet contains levetiracetam (500 mg), which acts on the body in the following ways:

• Synaptic Vesicle Protein 2A Binding: Levetiracetam selectively binds to Synaptic Vesicle Protein 2A (SV2A) found on nerve cells in the brain. This binding process helps to suppress abnormal neuron activity.

• Suppression of Neuronal Hyperexcitability: By attaching to SV2A, levetiracetam effectively suppresses the abnormal hyperexcitability and hypersynchronization of neurons responsible for generating and propagating epileptic seizures.

• Seizure Threshold Elevation: The suppression of abnormal neuronal activity aids in stabilising electrical activity within the brain, thereby raising the seizure threshold and reducing seizure occurrence.

• Store Levepxy XR 500 Tablet at room temperature (15°C to 30°C).

• Protect from light and moisture.

• Keep in the original package until time to use.

• Ensure it's out of reach of children.
