Linaxa M 2.5/500 Tablet is used for:

• Improving control over blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes

• Assisting diet and exercise regimes for managing type 2 diabetes

• Stabilising blood glucose levels in adults with type 2 diabetes when both linagliptin and metformin are appropriate treatments

• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.

• Do not break, crush, or chew the tablet, as this could affect its effectiveness.

Linaxa M 2.5/500 Tablet is taken orally.

Linaxa M 2.5/500 Tablet contains two active ingredients:

• Linagliptin (2.5 mg): As a Dipeptidyl Peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, this medicine works by slowing down the inactivation of certain hormones in your body called incretins. This action results in a prolonged effect of these hormones, stimulating the release of insulin when your blood sugar levels are high and decreasing the release of glucagon. This glucose-dependent mechanism helps reduce both fasting and postprandial (after meals) glucose levels.

• Metformin (500 mg): This ingredient is classified as a biguanide antihyperglycemic agent. Metformin primarily reduces blood glucose levels by suppressing glucose production in the liver. It enhances the sensitivity of your body to insulin which increases peripheral glucose uptake and reduces the absorption of glucose in your intestines. Unlike some other diabetes medications, metformin does not cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) in patients or healthy subjects.

• Store Linaxa M 2.5/500 Tablet at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.

• Ensure the storage area is free from high humidity.
