Looz Solution is used to relieve chronic constipation and manage symptoms of hepatic encephalopathy by reducing elevated ammonia levels in the bloodstream. Containing Lactulose, an osmotic laxative, the medication works by drawing water into the colon through osmosis, which softens the stool and facilitates easy, strain-free bowel movements. In the gut, it is broken down into organic acids that lower the pH of the colon, trapping ammonia and keeping its absorption into the system to support neurological health. This lemon-flavoured solution promotes a healthy intestinal environment and should be taken as part of a medically-supervised digestive care routine.

• Lactulose (10,000 mg per 15 ml): Lactulose is a synthetic disaccharide (a type of sugar) that works by drawing water into the bowel. This increases the moisture content of the stool, making it softer and easier to pass, which helps relieve constipation. Additionally, lactulose works by reducing the absorption of ammonia from the intestine into the bloodstream, which can be beneficial in managing hepatic encephalopathy—a condition caused by liver dysfunction where ammonia buildup affects brain function. By reducing the ammonia levels, lactulose helps support cognitive function and alleviate symptoms like confusion and tremors associated with hepatic encephalopathy.

• Helps Manage Constipation: Looz Oral Solution is primarily used to relieve constipation. It works by softening the stool, making it easier to pass. This helps in providing relief from the discomfort and inconvenience of constipation.
   
• Supports the Management of Hepatic Encephalopathy: Looz is beneficial for individuals suffering from hepatic encephalopathy, a condition caused by severe liver dysfunction. It helps lower the ammonia levels in the blood, which can otherwise lead to confusion, tremors, and even loss of consciousness. This medication assists in supporting brain function and reducing the symptoms associated with this condition.
   
• For Pre-Surgical Intestine Preparation: Looz Oral Solution is also used to prepare the intestines before surgery. It helps clear the bowel, ensuring that the surgical procedure can be performed with minimal complications related to the digestive system.
   
• Supports Liver Health: In cases of liver dysfunction, Looz can help regulate toxic substances, ensuring better liver function and reducing strain on the liver.

• Shake the bottle gently before use to ensure an even mixture. Remove the cap from the bottle. Use the provided measuring cap or syringe to measure the prescribed dose of the solution (5 ml, 10 ml, 15 ml, etc.). Tilt the bottle and carefully pour the liquid into the measuring cap or syringe according to your prescribed dose. Take the measured dose orally. 
• For constipation in adults, the starting dose is 15-45 ml per day, with a maintenance dose of 15-30 ml per day. For children aged 7-14 years, the starting dose is 15 ml per day, with a maintenance dose of 10-15 ml per day. For children aged 1-6 years, the starting dose is 5-10 ml per day. For hepatic encephalopathy in adults, the starting dose is 30-45 ml, 3-4 times a day. The dosage may be adjusted every 1-2 days to produce 2-3 soft stools per day. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it’s almost time for the next dose; do not take extra medicine to make up for a missed dose.

• Do not exceed the recommended dosage.
• Store Looz Oral Solution in a cool, dry place between 2°C to 30°C.
