Mahacef 200 Tablet 10

Mahacef 200 Tablet is used to manage:

• Bronchitis, pneumonia, and other respiratory tract infections
• Ear infections like otitis media
• Sinus infections, also known as sinusitis
• Urinary tract infections including cystitis and kidney infections
• Uncomplicated cervical or urethral gonorrhoea
• Typhoid fever

Use Mahacef 200 Tablet following these guidelines:

• Take the tablet orally with a glass of water.
• Do not crush or chew the tablet.
• Follow the dosage as directed by your doctor.
• Continue taking the medicine until you finish the entire course, even if you feel better.
• Consult your doctor before discontinuing the medicine.

Mahacef 200 Tablet is taken orally.

Cefixime (200 mg) is the active ingredient in Mahacef 200 Tablet. It works in the body through the following actions:

• Inhibition of Cell Wall Synthesis: Cefixime stops bacteria from building their cell walls by blocking certain proteins called penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). These proteins are responsible for maintaining the structure and rigidity of a bacterium's cell wall.
• Bactericidal Action: As a result of this inhibition, the cell wall becomes weak and breaks down, causing the bacteria to die. This action is called bactericidal action and helps clear up bacterial infections in the body.
• Broad-Spectrum Antibiotic: Cefixime is effective against a wide range of bacteria because it can target PBPs in both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. This makes Mahacef 200 Tablet a broad-spectrum antibiotic.

• Store Mahacef 200 Tablet at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.
• Protect the medicine from light and moisture.
• Keep the product safely out of reach of children.
• Always ensure to use Mahacef 200 Tablet before its expiry date.

• If you are managing respiratory tract infections with Mahacef 200 Tablet, try to avoid exposure to cigarette smoke and polluted air. These can irritate your lungs and may worsen symptoms.
• When dealing with urinary tract infections, increase your intake of water. Hydration helps flush bacteria out of your urinary system, supporting the management process.
