Metron 400 Tablet is used to treat infections of the stomach, intestines, skin and joints caused by certain bacteria and parasites, including amoebic dysentery. It helps clear the infection and ease symptoms such as loose motions and stomach pain.
It contains metronidazole. Take it with food as prescribed, and complete the full course even if you start feeling better, as stopping early can allow the infection to come back.
Drink plenty of clean water and eat light, easily digestible meals to support recovery from a gut infection. Avoid alcohol completely during treatment and for at least two days after finishing the course, as combining the two can cause severe nausea, vomiting and flushing.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any liver problems, blood disorders, or are taking other medicines. Report a persistent metallic taste, numbness or tingling in the hands or feet, or if your symptoms do not improve. It is best avoided in early pregnancy unless your doctor advises otherwise.
