Sulbactam (150 mg): Although sulbactam doesn't have antibacterial activity on its own, it acts as an irreversible inhibitor of beta-lactamases produced by bacteria resistant to beta-lactam antibiotics. It binds to the active site of beta-lactamase preventing it from destroying cefixime. This enhances cefixime's activity against many otherwise resistant strains.
