Moxclav DS Oral Suspension is used for the following:

• Managing recurrent or persistent acute otitis media in children: This condition is often caused by specific bacteria such as Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, or Moraxella catarrhalis.
• Handling sinusitis in paediatric patients: This is an inflammation or swelling of the tissue lining the sinuses.
• Dealing with community-acquired pneumonia in children: This is a type of pneumonia contracted by a person with little contact with the healthcare system.
• Controlling acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis in children: These are sudden worsening of symptoms in children with chronic bronchitis.
• Addressing uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections in children: These infections are usually minor and affect only the skin's surface.
• Managing urinary tract infections caused by susceptible bacteria in paediatric patients.

Moxclav DS Oral Suspension contains two active ingredients:

• Amoxicillin (400 mg): This component belongs to a group of medicines called antibiotics which are capable of killing bacteria. It does this by inhibiting the formation of bacterial cell walls which are crucial for their survival.
• Clavulanic Acid (57 mg): This ingredient doesn't kill bacteria itself but helps amoxicillin do its job better. It is a β-lactamase inhibitor which means it prevents certain bacteria from becoming resistant to amoxicillin, thus extending its antibiotic spectrum to include many bacteria that would otherwise be immune.
