Neosporin-H Ear Drops are used for the following:

• Managing superficial bacterial infections of the outer ear

• Providing relief from acute otitis externa, also known as swimmer's ear

• Assisting in controlling chronic otitis externa

• Helping to manage postoperative infections in the ear canal

• Clean and dry your outer ear thoroughly before using the drops.

• Lie down with the affected ear facing upwards.

• Instil the drops into your ear while maintaining this position.

• Remain lying down for 5 minutes to allow the medicine to penetrate into your ear canal.

• To avoid contamination, ensure the dropper tip does not touch your ear, fingers or other surfaces.

• After each use, close the bottle tightly.

Neosporin-H Ear Drops are instilled topically.

Neosporin-H Ear Drops works in a synergistic manner due to its three active ingredients:

• Polymyxin B (10000 IU): Polymyxin B is an antibiotic derived from Bacillus polymyxa. It also disrupts bacterial cell membranes, leading to cell death.

• Neomycin (3400 IU): Neomycin is an antibiotic produced by Streptomyces fradiae. It works by disrupting bacterial cell membranes and inhibiting protein synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death.

• Hydrocortisone (10 mg): This is a corticosteroid that manages inflammation by suppressing the immune response in the body. It helps reduce the swelling, itching, and discomfort associated with ear infections.

Together, these components provide effective coverage against several bacteria including Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Haemophilus influenzae, Klebsiella-Enterobacter species, Neisseria species, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

• Store Neosporin-H Ear Drops at room temperature, ideally between 15°-25°C.
