Nextop 25 Tablet is used for the following health conditions:

• Management of epilepsy, specifically partial-onset seizures.

• Control of primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures.

• Adjunctive therapy for seizures associated with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, a severe form of childhood-onset epilepsy.

• Prevention of migraine headaches in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and above.

Here's how you should take Nextop 25 Tablet:

• Take this medicine orally with or without food as directed by your doctor.

• Swallow the tablet whole. Avoid breaking, crushing or chewing it.

• Ensure you drink plenty of fluids while taking this medication to help lower the risk of kidney stones.

Nextop 25 Tablet contains topiramate (25 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Sodium Channel Blocker: Topiramate works by blocking voltage-dependent sodium channels in your brain. This action reduces the abnormal excitation of brain cells leading to seizures.

• GABA Enhancer: It enhances the activity of gamma-aminobutyrate (GABA), a substance found in your brain. GABA is a neurotransmitter, which means it sends messages between brain cells. By enhancing GABA, topiramate slows down the nerve signals, decreasing nervous system excitability.
