• Immediate management of hypertensive emergencies, which are instances of extremely high blood pressure

• Handling acute heart failure to reduce the strain on the heart

• Inducing controlled hypotension during surgeries to minimise bleeding

Using Nipress Injection involves a few critical steps:

• This medicine must be diluted in a sterile 5% dextrose solution before being administered by a healthcare professional.

• It's not suitable for direct injection into your body.

• Continuous blood pressure monitoring is crucial during administration.

Nipress Injection is administered intravenously by a qualified healthcare professional.

Nipress Injection contains Nitroprusside (50 mg), which impacts your body as follows:

• Nitric Oxide Donor: Nitroprusside releases nitric oxide when administered. Nitric oxide is a molecule that your body produces to help its cells communicate with each other.

• Activation of Guanylate Cyclase: The released nitric oxide activates guanylate cyclase, an enzyme that catalyses the conversion of guanosine triphosphate (GTP) into cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). cGMP is a secondary messenger which plays a key role in cellular communication.

• Relaxation of Vascular Smooth Muscle: The increase in intracellular levels of cGMP leads to the relaxation of vascular smooth muscle. Smooth muscles are found in the walls of organs and structures such as the oesophagus, stomach, intestines, bronchi, uterus, urethra, blood vessels, and the internal muscles of the eye.

• Rapid Reduction in Blood Pressure: The relaxation of vascular smooth muscle results in vasodilation, which is the widening of blood vessels. This process leads to a rapid reduction in blood pressure.
