• Improving glycaemic control in individuals with diabetes mellitus: This involves managing high blood sugar levels to prevent complications associated with diabetes.

• Providing both prandial and basal insulin coverage: This means it helps manage blood sugar spikes after meals and maintains stable sugar levels between meals and overnight.

Please note that Novomix 30 Flexpen is not recommended for managing diabetic ketoacidosis, a serious condition that can occur in diabetics due to a lack of insulin in the body.

Here's how you should administer Novomix 30 Flexpen:

• Ensure the site of injection is clean and dry.

• Administer the medication subcutaneously, typically in your abdominal wall, thigh, upper arm, or buttocks.

• Rotate the injection sites within the same region to reduce the risk of skin changes.

Novomix 30 Flexpen contains two active ingredients which work together to manage blood sugar levels effectively:

• Insulin Aspart (30% w/v): Known as rapid-acting insulin, this component helps to reduce post-meal blood glucose by aiding in cellular glucose uptake after meals.

• Protamine Crystallised Insulin Aspart (70% w/v): This intermediate-acting component provides basal coverage between meals and overnight. It slowly releases insulin into the bloodstream, mimicking physiological insulin secretion patterns.

• Store your Novomix 30 Flexpen in a refrigerator at temperatures between 2°C and 8°C before use.

• Keep it away from light and don't freeze it.

• Once opened, you can keep it unrefrigerated at temperatures below 30°C for up to 4 weeks.

• Always keep the Flexpen out of reach of children.

• Keep a check on your carbohydrate intake. Consuming balanced meals with controlled portions of carbohydrates will help maintain your blood sugar levels.
