Copper, zinc, lutein, omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin C, vitamin E, and zeaxanthin are all found in Omegared Capsules, as well as other nutrients. They are carotenoids that belong to the xanthophyll family and are the two most important components of the macular pigment of the retina. Lutein and Zeaxanthin are carotenoids that belong to the xanthophyll family of carotenoids. In the human eye, only two carotenoids, lutein and zeaxanthin, are found in two tissues: the macula and the lens. These carotenoids have dual functions in both tissues, acting as powerful antioxidants while also filtering high-energy blue light. Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) are two of the most important components of Omega3Fatty Acids, and they are found in high concentrations in the retina and retinal vascular endothelium (retinal blood vessels). Vitamin C and Vitamin E are powerful antioxidants that help to reduce the risk of cataract formation. Copper and zinc are effective in dissolving the grey cholesterol ring deposit that forms inside the clear cornea at the front of the eyes (see illustration).
