Omez D is useful in the treatment of many gastric conditions, these include: 

• Heartburn - It is a burning sensation in the upper belly caused by stomach acid irritation in the oesophagus, often associated with GERD, and can be relieved with Omez D. 
• GERD - This disease is characterised by symptoms like heartburn, stomach pain and irritation. Omez D is used for the treatment of GERD. It also reduces stomach acid production and promotes easier passage of gas out of the body.
• Abdominal pain - The pain anywhere in the stomach is called abdominal pain. It is a symptom of GERD. Omez D helps in relieving the pain.
• Bitter fluid in the stomach - The acidic nature of contents in the oesophagus may damage the lining of the stomach and oesophagus, leading to harm in the oesophagus.
• Nausea and vomiting - Nausea is a feeling of vomiting. During a vomit, contents are pushed from the stomach to the outside via the oesophagus. Omez D will improve symptoms of vomiting. 
• Fullness - The fullness in the stomach is due to the pseudo feeling of the stomach being full. Omez D helps in relieving symptoms of the fullness of the stomach. 
• Belching, gas and heavy bloating - Belching and gas are common and natural processes inside the stomach. These are sometimes underlying signs for some other disorder and are not a sign of danger in themselves and excess bloating disturbs the routine. Omez D helps in relieving these symptoms. Contact your doctor if the symptoms persist.

Follow the instructions provided by your doctor or pharmacist for the use of Omez D capsule. If you do not have specific instructions, you can follow the general directions below:

• Take the Omez D capsule with one whole glass of water
• Swallow the capsule as a whole, do not open, crush or chew
• This medicine is recommended to be taken on an empty stomach 

Omez D capsule has to be taken orally.

• Omeprazole is a highly effective inhibitor of gastric acid production. It inhibits the hydrogen and potassium ATPase proton pump in gastric parietal cells. Therefore, it stops gastric acid production. Domperidone is a prokinetic drug that inhibits the effect of dopamine inside the gut, thereby increasing gastric contractions and causing motility.
• Retention of omeprazole in the stomach for a long time is not beneficial in GERD patients as it causes impairment of acid production. The addition of a prokinetic drug like domperidone increases the motility of the intestine and is beneficial for omeprazole. Domperidone causes changes in the oesophagus, like increased pressure and wavy motion, which results in stomach emptying and bowel movement.

• Store the Omez D capsules below 25-30 °C. 
• Protect it from light and moisture. 
• Keep the Omez D capsule away from the sight and reach of children. 
• Do not use this medication once the expiry date has passed. 

• Eat smaller portions of food each time.
• Keep changing the postures from sitting to walking regularly. This will not create unnecessary triggers of acidity. 
• Avoid foods which are rich in fat and spice. 
• Food which may worsen the acidity, like tomato, pineapple, garlic, tea, soda, citrus fruits and chocolates, should also be avoided. 
• Do not lie down immediately after eating food.
• Yoga and exercise may avoid stress and give relaxation. Practise it regularly for better overall health. 
• Maintaining a healthy weight reduces the risk and chances of acidity by lowering abdominal pressure, which may happen in the case of being overweight.
• Reduce or stop alcohol intake. Alcohol can increase stomach acid production, leading to acidity.
