Pantin L Capsule is used for the following:

• Short-term management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in patients unresponsive to proton pump inhibitors alone.
• Assisting in healing peptic ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori infection or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) use.
• Controlling Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, a rare condition involving excessive acid production due to a pancreatic tumour.

To use Pantin L Capsule correctly, follow these steps:

• Swallow one capsule whole with a glass of water.
• Do not crush or chew the capsule.
• Avoid opening the capsule before consumption.
• Refrain from consuming alcohol while on this medication.
• Remember, following your doctor's advice for dosage and duration is important.

Pantin L Capsule is taken orally.

Pantin L Capsule consists of two active ingredients:

• Pantoprazole (40 mg): Classified as a proton pump inhibitor, pantoprazole works by inhibiting an enzyme system known as H+/K+ ATPase (proton pump) located in the stomach lining cells. This action leads to decreased secretion of stomach acid.
• Levosulpiride (75 mg): As a prokinetic agent, levosulpiride works in your body by opposing dopamine D2 receptors in the gastrointestinal tract. This action helps speed up gastric emptying and reduce acid reflux.

The coordinated action of these two components helps manage symptoms and promotes healing of the oesophageal lining.

• Also, consider eating smaller meals spread throughout the day rather than three large ones. This can prevent overfilling your stomach, which can lead to acid reflux. Always avoid lying down soon after eating; aim for a gap of at least three hours.
