Pantosec Tablet is used to treat acid-related conditions like:

• Heartburn: A burning sensation in the chest caused by stomach acid flowing back into the oesophagus
• Acid reflux: A condition where stomach acid flows back into the oesophagus, causing discomfort and heartburn.
• Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD): A chronic condition characterised by frequent heartburn and acid reflux.
• Peptic ulcer disease: Sores that develop in the lining of the stomach or small intestine due to excessive stomach acid production.
• Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: A rare condition that leads to over production of stomach acid, causing ulcers in the digestive system.

To use the Pantosec Tablet:

1. Take as directed by your doctor.
2. Swallow the tablet whole without chewing, crushing, or breaking it.
3. Take it one hour before a meal, preferably in the morning.
4. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. If it's almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule.
5. Consult your doctor for specific advice on how to use this medicine.

Pantosec Tablet is taken orally, which means it is swallowed with a glass of water. It is not to be taken through any other route.

Pantosec Tablet contains pantoprazole sodium as its active ingredient.

• Pantoprazole sodium belongs to a class of medicines known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).
• PPIs work by inhibiting an enzyme called H+/K+ ATPase, which reduces the production of gastric acid.
• By suppressing gastric acid secretion, pantoprazole sodium effectively relieves symptoms such as heartburn and acid reflux.
• It helps heal peptic ulcers by reducing the acidity in the stomach and promoting ulcer recovery.
• In Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, pantoprazole sodium controls hyperacidity by inhibiting excess acid production.

• Keep it out of reach of children to prevent accidental ingestion.
• Use the product before the expiration date mentioned on the packaging.

• Avoid spicy, acidic, and fatty foods that can trigger acid reflux.
• Eat smaller meals and chew your food thoroughly.

• Avoid lying down immediately after meals; wait for at least 2 hours.
• Raise the head of your bed or use extra pillows to keep your upper body elevated while sleeping.
