Composition

Amantadine (100 Mg)

Parkitidin Tablet belongs to the dopaminergic group of medications. It is primarily used in the treatment of Parkinson's disease. It is also used to treat shingles (herpes zoster) to reduce pain.

Directions for Use of Parkitidin Tablet 10

Swallow this tablet with a whole glass of water.
Do not crush or chew the tablet, as this may affect the way the medication is absorbed in the body.
Do not change the tablet dose or take them more often than prescribed.

Parkitidin Tablet should be taken orally.

Managing the Side Effects:

Parkitidin tablet contains the following component:

Amantadine hydrochloride (100 mg): It is an anticholinergic that increases the levels of certain chemicals that transmit impulses in the nervous system, including the brain. It treats Parkinson’s disease by improving muscle control, decreasing stiffness, shakiness, and shuffling, and enhancing mobility.

Pregnancy

Parkitidin Tablet is not recommended in pregnant women.

Breastfeeding

Parkitidin Tablet is not recommended in breastfeeding women.

Alcohol

Consumption of alcohol with Parkitidin Tablet may further worsen the side effects of this tablet. It is advised not to consume alcohol while taking this tablet.

Liver

Parkitidin Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver diseases. Inform your doctor if you suffer from liver disease.

Kidney

Parkitidin Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney diseases. Inform your doctor if you suffer from kidney disease.

Using Machines & Driving

Taking Parkitidin Tablet may cause blurring of vision, dizziness, confusion, or difficulty concentrating and affect your ability to react. It's advised to refrain from driving or operating machinery after taking this tablet.

Allergy

If you are allergic to amantadine hydrochloride, do not take this tablet. Read the label carefully before using this medication.

Children

Parkitidin Tablet is not suitable for use in children.

Older Patients

If you are 65 years or above, be cautious about the use of Parkitidin Tablet. Let your doctor know if you are taking any other medications and suffer from heart, liver or kidney diseases so that accordingly dosage and duration will be decided for taking this tablet.

Drug-Drug Interactions

Parkitidin Tablet can interact with the following medications:

Other anticholinergics like procyclidine, when taken with this tablet, can increase the risk of adverse effects.
Anti-spasmodics like hyoscine, when taken with this tablet, can affect its functioning.
Anti-psychotics like chlorpromazine and haloperidol, when taken with this tablet, can decrease the therapeutic efficacy of anti-psychotics.
Dopamine agonists such as levodopa, when taken with this tablet, can affect the functioning of this tablet.
Diuretics like hydrochlorothiazide, triamterene and amyloride, when taken with this tablet, can affect the metabolism of this tablet.

Parkitidin Tablet can interact with diseases/conditons, including

Cardiac arrythmias: Taking this tablet in patients with cardiac arrythmias can further increase the risk of this condition.
Liver diseases: Using this tablet in patients with liver diseases can cause further increase in liver enzyme numbers.
Kidney diseases: Using this tablet in patients with kidney diseases can lead to symptoms like confusion, dizziness, slurred speech, blurred vision, and convulsions.
Eczema: Taking this tablet in eczema can further increase the severity of this condition.
Stomach ulcer: Using this tablet in patients having stomach ulcers can worsen the ulcers.
Low blood pressure: Taking this tablet in patients having low blood pressure can further reduce the blood pressure.
Mental illnesses such as schizophrenia or dementia: Using this tablet in patients with mental illnesses can further aggravate the symptoms of mental illnesses.
Glaucoma: Using this tablet in patients with glaucoma can cause dilatation of pupils.

Daily Dose

The recommended dose of Pararkitidin Tablet should be taken as directed by the doctor. The dosage may change based on individual factors such as age, severity of the condition and response to the treatment. It is essential to follow the prescribed dosage direction and consult the doctor before exceeding it.

Over Dose

If you take an excessive dosage of Parkitidin Tablet by accident; it is essential to get immediate medical attention from your doctor or nearby hospital. The symptoms of an overdose include difficulty in breathing, decreased urination, irregular heartbeat, swelling of hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs, stiff arms or rigid legs, confusion, and problems with coordination.

Missed Dose

If you forget to take a Parkitidin Tablet, take it as soon as possible. If the time for the next dosage is close, skipping the missed one is recommended, and resume your regular dosage routine. Never increase the dosage without the doctor’s knowledge.

Store Parkitidin Tablet at room temperature below 30 ºC.
Protect it from light and moisture.
Keep the tablet away from children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiration date has passed.
