Pegclear Oral Solution is used for the following:

• Managing occasional constipation, when bowel movements are infrequent and hard to pass.

• Helping manage chronic idiopathic constipation, a long-term condition with no identifiable cause.

To use Pegclear Oral Solution safely and effectively, follow these steps:

• Shake the bottle of Pegclear Oral Solution well before using it.

• Measure the exact quantity recommended by your doctor.

• Dissolve the contents in water, in proportion to the prescribed dosage until a clear solution is formed.

• Consume the solution immediately. It can be taken with or without food at any time of day.

• Although this medicine is sugar-free but it is suggested to always consult your doctor before taking this sugar-free medicine if you have diabetes.

Pegclear Oral Solution is taken orally.

Pegclear Oral Solution contains four active ingredients which work together:

• Polyethylene glycol (13.125 gm): This substance is a non-absorbable, non-metabolized osmotic agent that stays in the colon where it attracts and retains water. This action helps to hydrate and soften stools, leading to an increase in stool volume.

• Sodium Chloride (0.3507 gm): An electrolyte that helps create an osmotic gradient, increasing water content in the intestinal lumen and maintaining stool hydration.

• Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate (0.1785 gm): Functions as an electrolyte to enhance water retention in the intestines, aiding in stool hydration and maintaining pH balance.

• Potassium Chloride (0.0466 gm): Acts as an electrolyte, contributing to the osmotic gradient that increases intestinal water content and helps keep the stool hydrated.

This combination of actions increases stool water content and volume, stimulating peristalsis (intestinal muscle contractions) which facilitates easier passage of softened stools, providing a laxative effect. The ingredients are not absorbed into the body systemically.
