Phenpres Injection is used for the following:

• Management of severe hypotension during anaesthesia: This medicine helps in managing low blood pressure that may occur due to anaesthesia.

• Handling hypotensive states: It is useful in managing conditions where blood pressure drops significantly.

• Attending to shock situations: This injection plays a crucial role in managing shock, a severe drop in blood flow through the body.

Administer Phenpres Injection as indicated below:

• This medicine should be administered by intravenous injection only.

• Ensure that the injection site is clean and sterile before administration.

• Do not self-administer; it should be given by a trained healthcare professional.

• Always follow your doctor's instructions regarding the frequency and timing of the injection.

Phenpres Injection is administered intravenously.

Phenpres Injection contains phenylephrine (10 mg), which interacts with your body through the following processes:

• Acts as an Alpha-1 Adrenergic Receptor Agonist: Phenylephrine primarily stimulates the alpha-1 receptors present in the smooth muscles that line your blood vessels. By doing so, it triggers a process called vasoconstriction, which essentially means that it causes your blood vessels to narrow.

• Increases Blood Pressure: As the blood vessels narrow due to vasoconstriction, the blood pressure within these vessels rises. This action of phenylephrine helps counteract the low blood pressure caused by anaesthesia or certain medications.

• Store Phenpres Injection at a temperature below 25°C.

• Keep it away from direct light.

• Always ensure that it is out of reach of children.

• Check the expiry date before administering the medicine, and do not use it if it has expired.

• If you’re managing hypotension, ensure you stay well-hydrated. Dehydration can reduce your blood volume and cause a drop in blood pressure.
